Position Summary:

The Billing & Coding specialist is responsible for analyzing coding diagnoses, procedures and modifiers to troubleshoot and resolve billing and/or coding issues, rejection, denial and appeals.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Works with Medicaid and all other governmental and commercial insurance carriers to resolve claims.
  • Review billing charges and other data for accuracy and potential reimbursement enhancement.
  • Obtain complete diagnosis information to ensure proper assignment of codes from applicable providers, clinic and support staff.
  • Complete insurance provider enrollment applications and agreements.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately and in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

  • Through extensive analysis of data, observations of clinical workflow and in consultation with staff, identifies opportunities to optimize capture of all billable services.
  • Provide advice on operational improvements to enhance efficiency of charge capture to reduce coding related denials and optimize overall reimbursement for all services.
  • Develop implement and manage processes to reconcile billed charges to scheduled visits, procedures and other sources of clinical and program charges.
  • Provide applicable data related to Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
  • Assist with the development of training programs and policies related to the Revenue Cycle.
  • Function as a resource and educator for the clinical and finance departments.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Position Summary:

Position Summary:

The THRIVE Financial Coach is responsible for providing  financial coaching services to clients of the Learning Center who are unemployed or underemployed and, are part of the THRIVE program, and/or receiving NAM services.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Provide information in order to assist clients in resolving current financial situations, while building financial management skills for future stability in order to achieve their financial goals.
  • Work with clients to complete a very detailed financial assessment including: assist client in documenting a budget and provide strategies for budget improvements, help client access credit report/score, provide strategies for credit building, and document the client’s balance sheet and provide strategies for increasing net worth
  • Develop plans of actions and provide tools, resources, and accountability to the client to help them meet their goals
  • Understand other services offered by NAM, such as employment, basic needs, family violence counseling, and access to public benefits and connect the clients to these and to other services available through the THRIVE collaborative and other agencies.
  • Implement, coordinate and maintain documentation on the micro loan program.
  • Document client progress in Financial Coaching Workbooks and Client Track. Recording the outcome of clients accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Work with the Learning Center team to ensure that any changes to the client’s financial status, (i.e., new job, new benefit, credit score) is properly documented.
  • Coordinate monthly Financial Literacy classes and may conduct workshops as a means of outreach and education. These classes and workshops will be designed to meet the needs of the clients and community.  Workshop topics would be relevant to the mission of the Learning center, and may include topics such as: budgeting, savings, banking products, credit building, identity theft, and other financial matters.
  • Develop relationships with local financial institutions and community organizations in order to understand the needs of the community so that the program can provide products and services that fit the program.
  • Attend all regular United Way THRIVE partner meetings, NAM staff meetings, staff events and fundraising activities as required by the position.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule including evening or Saturdays may be required based on class or event schedules.
  • Create a network of referral organizations to help you assist the client meet his/her goals (e.g. THRIVE network, local housing counseling agency, legal aid, etc.)
  • Maintain client information appropriately with regard to confidentiality and HIPPA requirements.

Violence Prevention Educator
