2017

Back-to-School Program

Northwest Assistance Ministries (NAM) will be accepting walk-in applications for the 2017 Back-to-School (BTS) Program beginning March 1, 2017, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., and 5 p.m. – 6:30 p.m., Tuesdays.

The program provides school supplies for eligible households with a child enrolled in kindergarten to 12th grade during the 2017-2018 school year.

To qualify for assistance, the household must meet the following criteria:

  1. Live in zip code 77014, 77032, 77038, 77050, 77060, 77064, 77066,77067, 77068, 77069, 77070, 77073, 77086, 77090, 77379, 77388, 77389, or attend Klein Independent School District (Proof of enrollment in a Klein ISD school is required).
  1. Provide the following documents at the time of application for assistance:
    1. Photo identification for all adult household members;
    2. Proof of birth for each student attending kindergarten to 12th grade (To attend kindergarten, the student must be 5 years of age on or before September 1, 2017);
    3. Proof of address that is dated 30 days prior to the date of application;
    4. 2016/2017 award letter for SNAP, SSI, RSDI, Medicaid, CHIP, WIC benefits, Housing Choice Voucher Program, National School Lunch Program (free only) OR proof of household income for the past 30 days that is at or below 185 % of the Federal poverty level.

A voucher for school supplies will be issued only for qualified households that provide all required documents at the time of application for assistance.


2017

Programa de Regreso a la Escuela 

Northwest Assistance Ministries (NAM), estará aceptando solicitudes (sin cita previa) para el programa de Regreso a la Escuela a partir del día 1 de marzo de 2017, los lunes, miércoles y viernes de 9 a.m. a 11 a.m., y 5 p.m. a 6:30 p.m., los martes.

El programa de Regreso a la Escuela proporciona útiles escolares a familias que son elegibles con niños inscritos en kínder hasta el grado 12th durante el año escolar 2017-2018.

Para recibir ayuda, las familias deben de cumplir con los siguientes requisitos:

  1. Residir en los códigos postales 77014, 77032, 77038, 77050, 77060, 77064, 77066,77067, 77068, 77069, 77070, 77073, 77086, 77090, 77379, 77388, 77389, o asistir al Distrito Escolar Independiente de Klein ISD (se requiere comprobante de inscripción en una de las escuelas de Klein ISD).
  1. Proporcionar los siguientes documentos al momento de pedir ayuda:
    1. Identificación con foto de todos los adultos en su familia;
    2. Comprobante de nacimiento para cada estudiante que asiste al kínder – grado 12th (para asistir al kínder el estudiante debe de tener 5 años de edad en o antes del 1 de Septiembre, de 2017);
    3. Comprobante de domicilio con fecha de 30 días antes de la fecha de la solicitud;
    4. Carta de aprobación de 2016/ 2017 de SNAP, SSI, RSDI, Medicaid, CHIP, beneficios de WIC, contrato de vales de vivienda, Programa Nacional de lunch escolar (gratis); o comprobante reciente de ingreso de los últimos 30 días de la familia que este a o inferior a 185 % del nivel de pobreza Federal.

Se otorgará un vale para útiles escolares solamente a familias que califiquen y que provean todos los documentos requeridos al momento de pedir ayuda.
