David Weekley Family Foundation/NAM Relief Challenge Grant

September 13, 2017

The David Weekley Family Foundation has generously offered to match each dollar contributed to Northwest Assistance Ministries’ (NAM’s) Relief for Neighbors fund over the next 30 days up to $50,000. This contribution will allow NAM to provide relief to even more families and individuals affected by Hurricane Harvey.

In the days immediately following the storm, with the help of neighbors local and nationwide, NAM provided emergency food, clothing, cleaning supplies, hygiene products, baby formula, diapers and other basic necessities to more than 6,000 individuals. However, such unplanned disaster relief efforts are taxing on NAM’s limited resources—further highlighting the significance of NAM’s partnership with The David Weekley Family Foundation—as those displaced by the storm are in need of NAM’s services more than ever.

Funds collected from the foundation match will be used to provide assistance to storm survivors demonstrating the greatest need in the areas of housing, basic needs and transportation. Medical needs, employment assistance, vocational training and behavioral healthcare are also among the services NAM strives to provide to those impacted by the storm through the assistance of trained volunteer caseworkers and contributions made to its Relief for Neighbors fund.

Donations can be made online at NAM’s Relief for Neighbors fund.
